Sagar Parekh's Insights on Parenting and Work

Sagar Parekh, renowned for his portrayal of Samar in the popular series Anupamaa, is currently engaged in a new project. His recent role was a negative character in Jagriti – Ek Nayi Subah. In a recent interview with a media outlet, he shared his thoughts on Kinshuk Vaidya's choice to limit his work hours to eight after becoming a father. Kinshuk and his wife, Diiksha Nagpal, welcomed their son on March 8, 2026, and he expressed a desire to spend more time with his child.

Sagar's Perspective on Kinshuk's Decision

Sagar Parekh subtly disagreed with Kinshuk's decision to reduce his working hours post-fatherhood. He acknowledged the importance of parenting but emphasized the demanding nature of the television industry. He stated, “Parenting is a significant responsibility, and every parent wishes to spend quality time with their child. However, the television sector operates under strict deadlines, and what appears simple on-screen often requires extensive effort behind the scenes. While the notion of an eight-hour workday sounds appealing, the reality is more complex.”

Sagar further elaborated that actors advocating for reduced hours must recognize the pressures producers face to deliver episodes punctually. He remarked, “Actors should be aware of the challenges producers encounter. Ultimately, everyone seeks a balance, but the show must also be produced. If an actor is not responsible for the show's success, taking a break is understandable. However, those involved in television often bear significant responsibilities.”

The Ruthless Nature of the TV Industry

Sagar described the television industry as unforgiving, especially with the constant demand for new episodes. He noted, “If you are a successful actor contributing positively to the producers' business, they will expect more from you. It’s a business with strict deadlines, and personal time often suffers as a result.” Sagar seems to believe that dedication to work is essential, and those in this profession must adhere to the designated shifts based on their roles.
