The fifth season of the SonyLIV series Gullak has brought back Helly Shah as Dr. Preeti Singh, a character she first portrayed last season. For Helly, being part of this show is a dream realized, and she expressed her enthusiasm about rejoining the Gullak family. This season, she noted that Dr. Preeti experiences significant growth, introducing new dimensions to the storyline. Most of her scenes are shared with Anant Joshi, who plays Anand, also known as Annu Mishra. However, when it came to acting alongside Geetanjali Kulkarni, Jameel Khan, and Sunita Rajwar, Helly admitted to feeling a bit anxious.

In a recent interview, Helly shared that while she was familiar with her character's background, she felt little need to contribute to the writing, as it was already robust. She mentioned, "About 90-95% of what you see is on paper, with only minor tweaks during rehearsals. This season introduces a fresh love story that hasn't been explored in the Gullak universe before."

Helly described the chemistry between Annu and Preeti as natural and praised her co-star Anant Joshi, calling it a pleasure to work with him. The two will reunite later this year in the Netflix comedy Chumbak. However, during a pivotal scene with her other co-stars, Helly felt a wave of nerves, reflecting on her admiration for them.
