Sanjib Singh's Sudden Demise
On the night of July 5, junior artist Sanjib Singh tragically passed away due to a heart attack at a petrol station in Mumbai. The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) confirmed the news of his death. He was 51 years old. Sanjib had just completed a grueling 13-hour shift for the ongoing show, Dr. Aarambhi, at SJ Studios in Saki Naka. His workday began at 2 PM and concluded at 3 AM. While returning home to Andheri, he stopped at a petrol pump to refuel when he suddenly collapsed.
Details Surrounding His Death
According to FWICE’s general secretary Ashok Dubey, Sanjib had experienced some discomfort during his shift and had taken a brief break. After finishing work, he left the set on his motorcycle. Unfortunately, he suffered a heart attack at the petrol station. Sanjib was unmarried and is survived by a sister and a brother. Dubey mentioned that his sister is a divorcee and that his brother has been unwell. Following his passing, Sanjib's body was sent to Cooper Hospital in Mumbai for a post-mortem examination. Afterward, his remains were transported to Kolkata for the final rites.
Support for Sanjib Singh’s Family
FWICE’s general secretary also announced that the organization has provided financial assistance to Sanjib's family. They have urged the production company behind Dr. Aarambhi, Malhar Creations, to offer compensation to the family of the deceased artist. FWICE emphasized the importance of ensuring the health and safety of crew members and artists during travel and shooting. Additionally, junior artist supplier Ravindra Suri has pledged to support Sanjib Singh’s family financially. Following Sanjib’s death and the recent incident involving actor Rajesh Sharma, concerns regarding the health and safety of actors on set have become a significant issue in the industry. For context, Dr. Aarambhi is currently airing on Colors TV and is produced by Mukta Dhond under Malhar Creations, featuring Aishwarya Khare, Arjit Taneja, and Aditya Redij in leading roles. The show premiered on January 27, 2026. May Sanjib Singh’s soul rest in peace!
