Rahul Banerjee, aged 43, tragically drowned during filming at Talsari beach in Odisha’s Baleswar district on March 29. The production house indicated that initial reports suggest he was alive when rescued and was even trying to communicate. He was first taken to a local clinic in Talsari, but shockingly, there was no doctor available to provide care. Subsequently, he was transferred to Digha State General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Additionally, director Saibal Banerjee, who was in Mumbai during the incident, traveled to Kolkata immediately upon hearing the news and visited Banerjee’s home that same night. Meanwhile, the All Indian Cine Workers Association has called for a thorough investigation, writing to the Prime Minister and alleging inadequate safety measures on set, demanding strict action, including the filing of murder charges against those responsible.
