A Heartfelt Farewell to Sreenivasan


Chennai: The Malayalam film fraternity is mourning the loss of Sreenivasan, a towering figure in Indian cinema, who passed away early Saturday. His influence on the industry was profound, making him a beloved creative force.


Actor Prithviraj took to Instagram to share his sorrow, stating, "Farewell to one of the greatest writer/director/actors! Thank you for the laughter and insights! Rest in peace, legend!"

Dileep, another prominent actor, expressed his grief, reflecting on the loss of a mentor and friend. He lamented the absence of Sreeniyettan's guidance and the void it leaves in both his life and the Malayalam film industry.


In a heartfelt message on Instagram, he shared, "The void left by Sreeniyettan in my life and in Malayalam cinema is immense. Rest in peace."



Superstar Rajinikanth also expressed his shock and sorrow over the loss of his dear friend. He praised Sreenivasan as an exceptional actor and a wonderful person, recalling their time together at the Film Institute.


Rajinikanth remarked, "It is shocking to know that my good friend Sreenivasan is no more. He was my classmate in Film Institute. An excellent actor and a very good human being. May his soul rest in peace."

Renowned singer K S Chithra shared her sadness on social media, stating, "I am deeply saddened to hear about Sreenivas sir’s passing. I was fortunate enough to sing for many of his films. My thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time. #KSChithra #Sreenivasan"


Sreenivasan, a celebrated actor, writer, and director, is regarded as a legend in Malayalam cinema. He passed away at Trippunithura Taluk Hospital, where he was receiving treatment for age-related health issues.
