The Kerala Story 2: High Court Lifts Stay on Release
The Kerala Story 2 Update
The film The Kerala Story 2 has garnered significant attention recently. Initially, the Kerala High Court had imposed a 15-day stay on its release. However, a new ruling has now lifted this interim ban, allowing the film to proceed with its release plans. Originally set to debut today (February 27), the film's fate was uncertain due to legal challenges. A division bench, comprising Justices Sa Dharmadhikari and PV Balakrishnan, overturned the previous decision made by Justice Bechu Kurian Thomas, who had halted the film's release following a petition regarding its censor certificate.
Relief for The Kerala Story 2 Team
The filmmakers of The Kerala Story 2 faced disappointment with the initial court ruling. Justice Thomas had mandated a 15-day pause and instructed the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to review complaints lodged against the film. The Kerala High Court had previously criticized the censor board for granting a U/A rating, stating they did not adhere to established guidelines. On the same day, the filmmakers filed an appeal, requesting urgent consideration. The Division Bench held a special session at 7:30 pm to deliberate on the appeal. After a two-hour hearing, the bench reserved its judgment. On Friday (February 27), the court revealed its decision to lift the interim stay on The Kerala Story 2's release. As of now, the filmmakers have not disclosed a new release date, leaving audiences eagerly awaiting further updates.
