Thalapathy Vijay's anticipated film, Jana Nayagan, was scheduled to hit theaters on January 9 this year. Unfortunately, the release faced delays due to certification complications. In the midst of this, Vijay's introductory scene was leaked online, followed by the entire film being made available on the internet. In response, KVN Productions LLP, the film's production company, through their lawyer Vijayan Subramanian, issued a formal notice. Recently, Vijay made his first public appearance since the leak, but he chose to avoid questions regarding the incident.

A video clip shared by Polimer News showcasing Vijay's public appearance has gone viral across social media platforms. In the footage, Vijay did not respond to inquiries about the leak of Jana Nayagan, opting instead to continue walking without engaging with the questions. Previously, advocate Vijayan Subramanian expressed that the leak was a significant shock to the film's creators. He stated that Jana Nayagan was produced with an investment of several hundred crores and holds substantial value across theatrical, OTT, satellite, and commercial avenues. The urgency of the situation was also emphasized in his remarks.
The statement from the production's counsel indicated that certain scenes from Vijay's film had been 'illegally accessed, downloaded, copied, and circulated' by unidentified individuals, posing a serious risk of further leaks through various social media channels.

In the meantime, actor Chiranjeevi has publicly supported Vijay following the leak of Jana Nayagan. On his X (formerly Twitter) account, he expressed his concern, stating, "The unfortunate leak of #Jananayagan is something that deeply concerns me. Cinema is built on trust, effort, and the collective dreams of many. Such incidents affect all of us in the industry and remind us how crucial it is to protect our creative work." He called for solidarity with KVN Productions in mitigating the damage and holding those responsible accountable. Chiranjeevi further urged his followers to join the fight against piracy, declaring, "Kill piracy, save cinema."
