The filmmakers sought legal recourse through the Madras High Court and the Supreme Court, but a stay order halted the film's release. In December 2025, a review committee recommended the removal of specific scenes, which the filmmakers agreed to. However, a subsequent objection from a committee member led to the matter being sent back to a revising committee for further evaluation.

As reported by a media outlet, the CBFC's Revising Committee is set to reassess the film in Chennai on March 17, 2026. This session will be led by the esteemed Kannada director T.S. Nagabharana.
