Scheduled for release in January 2026, Jana Nayagan, the final film of TVK founder and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay, has faced significant delays due to censorship challenges. Directed by H Vinoth, the film's release date has been postponed multiple times. On April 9, 2026, snippets of Jana Nayagan were leaked online, followed by the entire film appearing on piracy sites. In response, the Tamil Nadu Cyber Crime Wing has apprehended the alleged mastermind behind the leak along with 18 accomplices, while KVN Productions has filed a formal complaint with law enforcement.

According to reports, the primary suspect in the leak of Jana Nayagan was captured after being on the run. Recently, six individuals were arrested in Chennai, including a 34-year-old software engineer named Balaji. They face charges under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), the Information Technology Act, the Copyright Act, and the Cinematograph Act.
