Tragic Incident on the Set of Killer

The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, who is also a former actor, Vijay, has received a formal request from the All India Cine Workers Association (AICWA). This letter calls for stringent actions against the producers of the Tamil film Killer, following the tragic death of a 26-year-old technician named Madhan. He lost his life during the filming of an explosion scene on June 3, 2026, at Binny Mills in Chennai. In the detailed letter, AICWA President Suresh Shyamlal Gupta highlighted the involvement of producers Baiju Gopalan, Gokulam Gopalan, VC Praveen, and the production companies Angel Studios and Sree Gokulam Movies. The association has urged CM Vijay to file a police report under murder charges against the producers of Killer.

AICWA Seeks Justice for Madhan

AICWA shared a comprehensive note on social media, including images of the letter sent to CM Vijay after Madhan's unfortunate passing. The note emphasized that during the explosion scene, not only did Madhan die, but several other crew members were also injured. AICWA is demanding an FIR under murder charges against the producers of Killer, along with a compensation of ₹1 crore for Madhan's family and ₹25 lakh for each injured worker. Additionally, they have requested a thorough independent investigation into the incident and have asked the filmmakers to reveal the total number of injuries and casualties.

The AICWA has held the production houses and their producers accountable for Madhan's death and is urging CM Vijay to enforce stricter safety regulations on film sets to ensure worker safety across India. Notably, AICWA President Suresh Shyamlal Gupta has also released a video on social media, indicating that many workers are reluctant to speak out about such incidents due to fears of job loss and threats from superiors.
