Chennai, Sep 4: On the occasion of Krishna Jayanthi, Tamil Nadu's Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay shared his greetings and encouraged everyone to embrace the teachings of Sri Krishna, emphasizing the importance of righteousness, duty, and faith.
In a post on X, previously known as Twitter, Vijay highlighted that following the path of dharma can lead to a society where love, virtue, and noble values thrive.
He expressed, “On this joyful Krishna Jayanthi festival, I extend my warmest wishes to all.”
“By adhering to Sri Krishna's teachings—that righteousness prevails over injustice, that one should steadfastly fulfill their duties regardless of circumstances, and that life's journey should be approached with resilience and faith in dharma—we can cultivate a world enriched with love and virtuous living. #CMJosephVijay,” he further stated.
Vijay, a former actor, has been serving as Tamil Nadu's ninth chief minister since May 2026 and is the founder and leader of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) political party.
He made his acting debut in 1992 with Naalaiya Theerpu, directed by his father S. A. Chandrasekhar. He gained popularity through romantic films like Poove Unakkaga, Love Today, and Kadhalukku Mariyadhai, before establishing himself as an action star in movies such as Thirumalai and Ghilli.
His notable commercial hits include Thuppakki, Kaththi, Theri, Mersal, Sarkar, Bigil, Master, Leo, and The Greatest of All Time.
His latest film, Jana Nayagan, is a political action drama directed by H. Vinoth, featuring Bobby Deol, Pooja Hegde, and Mamitha Baiju alongside Nassar, Prakash Raj, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Narain, and Priyamani.
This film is a partial remake of the 2023 Telugu movie Bhagavanth Kesari, and it narrates the story of a former Tamil Nadu Police Inspector who raises his deceased friend's daughter, helping her to overcome childhood trauma and aspire to join the Indian Army. His journey leads him to confront corrupt forces that threaten democratic values.
