Tom Hardy Exits Paramount+ Series MobLand Ahead of Potential Third Season
Tom Hardy's Departure from MobLand
In a significant development for the crime drama series MobLand, actor Tom Hardy will not be returning for a potential third season. The second season of the show, which airs on Paramount+, is anticipated to premiere later this year. Reports indicate that Hardy, who portrays Harry Da Souza, a fixer for the Harrigan crime family, has been let go due to ongoing conflicts with the show's producers.
Tom Hardy Fired from MobLand Before Season 3
According to industry insider Matt Belloni, Hardy's dismissal stems from his habitual tardiness on set and his attempts to modify the script, which led to clashes with producers Jez Butterworth and David Glasser. Additionally, sources revealed that Hardy was dissatisfied with the series shifting its focus to other characters within the ensemble.
Butterworth, who serves as both writer and executive producer, reportedly threatened to exit the project due to these tensions. If MobLand is renewed for a third season, Hardy will not be part of it. This isn't the first instance of Hardy facing on-set disputes; he has previously encountered similar issues during the filming of Mad Max: Fury Road, Lawless, and The Revenant.
Created by Ronan Bennett, MobLand is executive produced by both Guy Ritchie and Hardy. The series debuted in March 2025 and was renewed for a second season just a few months later.
