He took to Letterboxd shortly after the film's release to commend its captivating storyline. Kashyap described the movie as a thrilling experience that keeps viewers engaged from beginning to end. Directed by Nissam Basheer, the film revolves around a government worker whose life spirals out of control after a sum of stolen money goes missing, leading to accusations against him. Anurag Kashyap's Mixed Feelings About I, Nobody

In his Letterboxd review, Kashyap rated I, Nobody positively, highlighting its mainstream appeal and thrilling elements. He expressed, “Loved it. Keeps you hooked from beginning to end. It’s more mainstream and thrilling.” However, he did point out one aspect that detracted from his overall enjoyment. He found the portrayal of an ordinary individual battling multiple adversaries simultaneously to be somewhat implausible, although he acknowledged that mainstream audiences might appreciate it. He remarked, “Only thing that bothered me... is a common man fighting so many goons at the same time. Nevertheless, a total ride around greed, public and media trial and policing and politics of it all.”

Box Office Performance of I, Nobody

The film's positive reception has translated into solid box office performance. As reported by Sacnilk, I, Nobody garnered approximately Rs 2.22 crore net in India on its second day, showing a slight increase from its opening day collection of Rs 2.20 crore. The total net collection in India after two days now stands at Rs 4.42 crore, with a gross of Rs 5.13 crore.

Early viewers have particularly praised the film's first half, noting its engaging storyline and technical execution. One viewer commented, "Excellent First Half. Making, Performance, Fight Choreography... No Lag Till Now. Waiting To Start Second Half." Another added, "Solid first half for #INobody. It leans hard into the drama, but that's exactly what makes it so gripping. The craftsmanship is top-tier." Many have also appreciated the film's deliberate pacing, which allows for character and conflict development rather than rushing into action. This isn't the first time Kashyap has lauded a Malayalam film recently; he previously praised Mollywood Times, directed by Abhinav Sunder Nayak, calling it a filmmaker's dream and commending its blend of realism and idealism.
