A Heartfelt Tribute to a Legend

Mumbai: Actress Shilpa Shetty embraced her inner Chandni, donning a vibrant yellow chiffon saree as a tribute to the late iconic actress Sridevi.

Shilpa shared a reel on Instagram showcasing her in the eye-catching saree during a photoshoot, accompanied by the instrumental theme from the 1989 film featuring Sridevi and Rishi Kapoor.

In her post, she captioned it, "My Ode to my forever OG Sriji #Chandni #Chandnivibes."

The film "Chandni," directed by Yash Chopra, features Sridevi as Chandni Mathur, a spirited young woman caught in a love triangle with Rishi Kapoor and Vinod Khanna.

Alongside these stars, the film includes performances from Waheeda Rehman, Anupam Kher, Sushma Seth, Mita Vashisht, and Manohar Singh.

After a string of unsuccessful action films, Yash Chopra pivoted to creating a romantic musical, embodying the signature "Yash Chopra style" characterized by strong female leads, romance, and emotional depth, complemented by melodious songs filmed in picturesque locations.

The narrative revolves around Chandni and her fiancé, Rohit, who becomes paralyzed in an accident. Relocating to Mumbai, she finds herself pursued by her boss, Lalit, while also facing the return of Rohit, who rekindles his affections for her.

On the professional front, Shilpa was recently featured in "Sukhee," a light-hearted film that follows the protagonist as she revisits her youth over a transformative week.

Next, she will appear in "KD: The Devil," a Kannada action drama directed by Prem, starring Dhruva Sarja, Sanjay Dutt, and others.
