First Look at 'O'Romeo'

Mumbai, January 9: The poster for the much-anticipated film ‘O’Romeo’ was revealed on Friday, showcasing Shahid Kapoor in the role of Romeo.

Directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, the film promises to deliver a distinctive cinematic experience. Shahid’s striking appearance in this initial reveal suggests a character that is both intriguing and eccentric, hinting at the depth, drama, and passion that ‘O’Romeo’ aims to present.

Alongside Shahid, the film features Triptii Dimri and Nana Patekar. It is scheduled for theatrical release on February 13, 2026. This marks another collaboration between Shahid Kapoor and the acclaimed filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj.

This project represents the fourth time Shahid and Vishal have worked together, following their successful films ‘Kaminey’, ‘Haider’, and ‘Rangoon’. Their partnership began with ‘Kaminey’, where Shahid played twin brothers with contrasting personalities—one stammering and vulnerable, the other bold and reckless. The film’s blend of dark humor and gritty realism highlighted both Vishal’s directorial prowess and Shahid’s acting skills, earning widespread critical praise.

They reunited in 2014 for ‘Haider’, a reimagining of Shakespeare’s Hamlet, set against the backdrop of the Kashmir conflict. Shahid’s portrayal of a tormented young man seeking vengeance was one of his career highlights, as he navigated themes of love, betrayal, and political strife. Vishal’s screenplay artfully combined poetic elements with raw emotion, further enhancing Shahid’s acclaimed performance.

Their collaborations are characterized by a mutual dedication to exploring complex characters and themes of moral ambiguity, grief, and psychological conflict. Vishal’s intricate narratives align seamlessly with Shahid’s talent for infusing depth and vulnerability into intense roles, allowing them to push the boundaries of mainstream cinema while maintaining entertainment value.

Produced by Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, ‘O’Romeo’ is set to premiere during Valentine’s Week on February 13, 2026.
