The actor has a unique bond with Mangaluru, having spent five years living there with his maternal grandmother. In a past interview, he shared, “Main Mangaluru mein adopted tha. Mangalore mein meri nani ne mujhe adopt kiya tha kyunki unko koi ladka nahi tha. Paanch saal tak main Mangaluru mein pala bada hu. Bachpan ki saari meri nangi tasveerein vahan ki hai (I was adopted in Mangaluru. My grandmother had no son, so she adopted me. I grew up in Mangaluru for five years, and all my childhood pictures are from there).”

During the celebration, Shah Rukh entertained the crowd by dancing to popular tracks like Jhoome Jo Pathaan and songs from Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. After much encouragement from fans, he also performed the iconic Chammak Challo and recreated a memorable dialogue from Om Shanti Om.
