Sanjay Dutt Celebrates Success of Dhurandhar 2 Amid Controversy
Sanjay Dutt's Triumph with Dhurandhar 2
Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt is enjoying the success of Dhurandhar 2, officially known as Dhurandhar: The Revenge. In this action-packed film directed by Aditya Dhar, he portrays the character of SP Chaudhary Aslam, a formidable Pakistani police officer. Dutt's performance in the first film was memorable, especially when he confronted Rehman Dakait, played by Akshaye Khanna. In the sequel, he returns with an even more intense presence. Recently, amidst the excitement surrounding the film, Dutt took a trip to Andhra Pradesh, where he met with Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.
Meeting with the Chief Minister
The two were photographed together, and Dutt shared these moments on Instagram, expressing his admiration for Naidu's vision for the state. He wrote, "Chandrababu Naidu Garu, it’s always a pleasure meeting you sir. I truly admire your vision for Andhra Pradesh and the energy you bring to building it. Thank you for the warm welcome."
Dhurandhar 2's Box Office Success
Dhurandhar: The Revenge, which also features R Madhavan, Sara Arjun, and Yami Gautam, hit theaters on March 19 and has achieved remarkable success, grossing over Rs 937 crore globally within its first week. In India alone, it has amassed more than Rs 575 crore, marking it as one of the top hits of 2026. The film is expected to maintain its strong box office performance in the coming weeks.
Controversy Surrounding KD: The Devil
In addition to his film's success, Sanjay Dutt is making headlines due to the controversy surrounding his upcoming project, KD: The Devil. The song Sarke Chunar, featuring Nora Fatehi, faced significant backlash for its lyrics and choreography, prompting the National Commission for Women to call for action against the filmmakers. The song has since been removed from YouTube and other platforms. While Fatehi has addressed the issue, Dutt has not yet commented. A revised version of the song will be submitted to the Censor Board for approval.
In a recent interview, the film's director downplayed the controversy, suggesting that the focus on a minor lyrical issue in a major film was exaggerated, especially when more pressing global issues exist. KD: The Devil is scheduled for release on April 30, 2026, and features a talented cast including Dhruva Sarja and Shilpa Shetty.
