"Before Maa Inti Bangaram was released, I was fixated on one question: were people even discussing the film? Were our promotional efforts reaching anyone? Did they know this film was coming?" she wrote. Samantha recalled overhearing a conversation where an exhibitor expressed skepticism about the film's potential, stating, "Why would anyone watch a heroine film? If she’s in a big hero's film, that’s fine. People recognize her for her glamour. But a film led by a heroine? Who will come? Nobody." Reflecting on this, she noted, "That was the perception before Maa Inti Bangaram hit theaters."
