She expressed hope that this success would pave the way for greater support for female-led projects and challenge entrenched industry beliefs.

Samantha Ruth Prabhu Reflects on Pre-Release Concerns

On July 12, Samantha Ruth Prabhu celebrated the film's achievement on her Instagram, sharing her thoughts on the journey of Maa Inti Bangaram. As the film crossed the Rs 100 crore threshold, she reminisced about the doubts surrounding its release. In a heartfelt message, she admitted to her worries about whether the film was even on the audience's radar. "Before Maa Inti Bangaram was released, I was fixated on one question: were people even discussing the film? Were our promotional efforts reaching anyone? Did they know this film was coming?" she wrote. Samantha recalled overhearing a conversation where an exhibitor expressed skepticism about the film's potential, stating, "Why would anyone watch a heroine film? If she’s in a big hero's film, that’s fine. People recognize her for her glamour. But a film led by a heroine? Who will come? Nobody." Reflecting on this, she noted, "That was the perception before Maa Inti Bangaram hit theaters."

Looking back on the film's journey, she stated, "Real change occurs when someone dares to take a risk. Often, those risks don’t yield results, but occasionally, they do. For us, this time it did." She expressed hope that this film could signify the start of a larger shift in how female-led films are perceived. "I wish that the next time someone inquires about a female-led film at a B or C center, the response isn’t an immediate no. Perhaps it could be, 'Let’s see.' Because the reality is, we will never truly know," she added. Following the announcement of the film's success, fans and industry colleagues flooded her comments with congratulatory messages. Actor Rhea Kapoor commented, "Congratulations, more power to you," while Kajal Aggarwal responded with a series of fire, heart-eyes, and clapping emojis. Other actors, including Siri Hanmanth and Mariedashani, also celebrated the milestone with heart and fire emojis. Rakul Preet Singh and Dia Mirza joined in with red hearts and fire emojis in the comments.

Many fans praised Samantha for demonstrating that female-led films can achieve box office success, with comments like "That's how you move the needle" and "Congratulations Shyam," acknowledging both the actress and the film's groundbreaking accomplishment.
