On the cinematic front, Salman Khan is set to appear in the war drama Maatrubhumi: May War Rest In Peace, previously known as Battle of Galwan. Directed by Apoorva Lakhia and produced by Salman Khan Films, the film draws inspiration from the 2020 Galwan Valley clash. Salman will portray the real-life hero Colonel Bikkumalla Santosh Babu from the 16 Bihar Regiment. Although the film was initially slated for release this year, it has encountered delays. Recent reports suggest that the film's release might be postponed to 2027. The production team has clarified that any rumors regarding certification issues with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) are unfounded, stating that the film has not yet been submitted for certification.
