Salman Khan's New Home in Mumbai

Located in Bandra, Mumbai, Galaxy Apartments has been the residence of renowned screenwriter Salim Khan and his family since 1974. Instead of remaining in their current apartment, Salman is reportedly building a six-storey independent bungalow that offers a sea view.

MCZMA Approves Salman Khan's New Bungalow

Salman Khan gets MCZMA's clearance to construct new bungalow

As per a report, the Maharashtra Coastal Zone Management Authority (MCZMA) granted permission to the Khans on June 16 to construct a residential building in Bandra’s Chimbai area, just a short distance from Galaxy Apartments. This new property was acquired in 2011 by Salman's mother, Salma, also known as Sushila Charak.

Reasons Behind the Move

Why is Salman Khan moving out of Galaxy Apartments?

The decision to build a new bungalow stems from security concerns following threats from Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang. The iconic balcony at Galaxy Apartments, which provided a glimpse into the Khan family's life, was sealed after a shooting incident in 2024. The new residence is expected to offer enhanced security measures.

Details of the New Construction

Where will Salman Khan and family reside?

The property, previously owned by Mary Clotilda Baptista, changed hands several times before being purchased by the Khans in 2011. The family demolished the old two-storey bungalow due to its poor condition. According to the MCZM's records, the new building will consist of a ground floor, stilt, and six additional floors, adhering to regulation 33(16) of the Development Control and Promotional Regulations 2034. The project will utilize an FSI of 1.459, with the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) granting permission on October 28, 2025. Sach Developers have been selected to construct the 1014.11 square meter property, which will include a 6.01-meter-wide access road from the municipal road. The Khans have committed to preserving existing trees and planting indigenous species around the site.
