Embracing Inclusivity in Parenting

In a recent interview at the We Women’s London Edition, actor Saif Ali Khan opened up about his approach to parenting his sons, Taimur and Jehangir, emphasizing the importance of inclusivity in their spiritual education. Saif shared his belief in a universal God, stating, "There's one God, and He has many names," which reflects his aim to foster an understanding of diverse faiths in his children.

He elaborated on the significance of discussing religion with Taimur and Jeh, expressing, “It’s a conversation I love having with them. I’m not the most religious person, but my mother taught me that there’s one God with many names, and I pass that on to my kids.” Saif believes that worship can take many forms and that love and forgiveness are fundamental principles across all religions.

Saif reminisced about his own educational background, where he was immersed in Christian institutions that began each day with chapel services. He noted that students engaged in prayers from various religions and celebrated both Christmas and Diwali, which nurtured a sense of cultural respect. This diverse upbringing has shaped his parenting philosophy, as he strives to create a similar environment for his sons.

During a recent chat with Taimur, Saif was delighted by his son's ability to differentiate between religion and methodology. At just nine years old, Taimur remarked, “In religion, we pray, and in methodology, we don’t.” Saif expressed pride in this understanding, highlighting that such discussions are a regular aspect of their family dynamic. He feels fortunate to have been raised with an open-minded view of spirituality, a value he shares with his wife, Kareena Kapoor.

On the work front, Saif Ali Khan is preparing for the release of his new film, "Hum Hindustani," directed by Rahul Dholakia. The movie boasts a talented cast, including Pratik Gandhi and Deepak Dobriyal, and is set to launch on Netflix later this year. Additionally, he is involved in the project "Haiwaan," directed by Priyadarshan, featuring Saiyami Kher and Akshay Kumar. Saif was last seen in the Netflix film "Kartavya."
