Royal Enfield Unveils the Powerful Continental GT 750 at EICMA 2026
Introduction to the Continental GT 750
New Delhi. Royal Enfield has officially introduced its latest model, the Continental GT 750, at EICMA 2026. This motorcycle boasts a robust engine and an impressive cafe racer design, making it potentially the most powerful production bike from the company to date. It features a new 743cc parallel-twin engine, which is expected to deliver more power than the current Continental GT 650.
Enhanced Power with the New Engine
The Continental GT 750 is equipped with a new 743cc parallel-twin engine, similar to that found in the Himalayan 750. However, it is anticipated that the company will provide a distinct engine tuning tailored for the cafe racer segment.
In the Himalayan 750, this engine generates 55bhp and 63Nm of peak torque. It is expected that the Continental GT 750 will offer even greater power, although the company has yet to disclose the final power and torque figures.
For comparison, the existing Continental GT 650 features a 648cc engine that produces 47hp and 52Nm of torque, indicating that the new GT 750 could represent a significant performance upgrade.
Mechanical Upgrades
The Continental GT 750 incorporates several key mechanical changes compared to the Himalayan 750. Notably, it replaces the electronic throttle with a cable-operated throttle. Additionally, instead of the adventure bike's 2-in-1 exhaust system, it features twin exhaust pipes.
While the basic frame resembles that of the Continental GT 650, modifications have been made to accommodate the larger engine.
For suspension, it includes telescopic front forks and twin shock absorbers at the rear, both of which offer preload adjustment. The braking system features a dual disc setup at the front, whereas the GT 650 has a single front disc.
Color Options and Design Features
In terms of design, Royal Enfield has maintained the classic cafe racer aesthetic while adding several new premium features.
The bike comes with a twin-pod instrument cluster that includes analog-style gauges and a small TFT display at the bottom. Metal switch cubes enhance its premium appearance.
The Continental GT 750 will be available in three color options:
- Master Clean: Features chrome detailing, wire-spoke wheels, and tube tires.
- Red Line: Comes with a chrome finish, wire-spoke wheels, and front quarter fairing.
- TT Blue: Offers alloy wheels, tubeless tires, and a design without front fairing.
All three variants will feature 18-inch wheels and a single-piece seat, along with a removable seat cowl that can be taken off to accommodate a passenger.
Expected Launch in India
Royal Enfield has not yet revealed the complete specifications, pricing, or weight of the Continental GT 750. However, it is anticipated that its weight may be less than the current Continental GT 650, which weighs 214 kilograms.
The launch of this motorcycle in India is expected in 2027, likely during the first quarter. Meanwhile, the Himalayan 750 is anticipated to be introduced to the Indian market before the Continental GT 750, possibly during the MotoVerse event.
A New Era for Royal Enfield
The introduction of the Continental GT 750 could redefine Royal Enfield's parallel-twin motorcycle lineup. With its 743cc engine, improved braking system, and new features, this bike is poised to attract customers seeking a classic cafe racer design combined with enhanced power and performance.
However, the true capabilities of the motorcycle will only be revealed once the company discloses official power, weight, and pricing details.
