In response to these claims, Shetty's team has released a statement indicating that the stickers were initially used but have since been removed. They also mentioned that due to an ongoing firing case, two police officers have been assigned to ensure his safety.

The spokesperson's statement explained, “In light of the recent firing incident at Rohit Shetty’s home, the police have heightened security measures. The identification stickers were utilized during the initial response but have now been taken down.” They further noted, “Currently, Rohit Shetty is under police protection, with two officers assigned to him as the investigation continues. We are grateful to the Mumbai Police for their unwavering support during this difficult time.”

According to a report from Mid-Day, Shetty modified at least two of his private SUVs. Under Section 177 of the Motor Vehicles Act of 1988, such actions are deemed illegal and can lead to penalties. Only individuals affiliated with law enforcement are authorized to use these stickers and lights. A senior traffic officer confirmed to Mid-Day that permission for such usage is exclusively granted to police personnel. It was verified that the SUVs are registered under Shetty's name, and a senior RTO official stated, “The Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, as amended in 2019, prohibits the use of 'Police' stickers, logos, or boards on private vehicles, as outlined in Section 177.”
