Rishab Shetty's Social Media Moves Raise Eyebrows

Rishab Shetty, known for his role as both star and director of the hit film Kantara: Chapter 1, has ignited discussions online after he seemingly unfollowed Hombale Films, along with his co-stars Rukmini Vasanth and Raj B Shetty on Instagram. This action has led fans to speculate about a possible rift, although there has been no official statement confirming any issues.

Unfollowing Co-Stars and Production House: What's Happening?

Reports indicate that Rishab Shetty has removed Hombale Films from his following list on Instagram, which has raised eyebrows among fans. Additionally, he has also unfollowed Rukmini Vasanth and Raj B Shetty, with whom he previously shared a strong bond. Social media users are actively discussing this situation, with many suggesting that an unfollow may not necessarily indicate a serious problem.

One reassuring detail for fans is that Rishab continues to follow Vijay Kiragandur, the head of Hombale Films, which may imply that there are no significant issues between them. Despite circulating rumors of potential “creative differences” or “financial disputes,” fans remain hopeful that all is well.

Rukmini Vasanth and Raj B Shetty's Reactions

Rukmini Vasanth, the leading lady of Kantara: Chapter 1, took to Instagram to share a heartfelt message about her experience working on the film. She expressed how the project pushed her boundaries, improved her skills, and provided her with a new outlook on life. Rukmini also acknowledged the hard work of the entire team and expressed her gratitude for being part of such a significant film, particularly praising Rishab Shetty for his vision and leadership.

Last year, Rishab Shetty had publicly wished for the success of the film 45, but fans noted that he did not mention Raj B Shetty in his video, which fueled speculation about a possible fallout. Additionally, the absence of longtime collaborator Rakshit Shetty from social media updates has also caught fans' attention. Raj B Shetty's silence regarding Kantara: Chapter 1 has been particularly noticeable, especially since he contributed as a writer to Rakshit Shetty's original film from 2022. Fans also recall their joint performances, including the Tulunadu tiger dance.

Upcoming Projects for Rishab Shetty

Rishab Shetty was last seen in Kantara: A Legend – Chapter 1, a film he co-wrote and directed, produced by Vijay Kiragandur and Chaluve Gowda under Hombale Films. In this film, he portrayed four characters: Berme, Mayakara, Annappa, and Kaadubettu Shiva. The movie also featured Jayaram and Gulshan Devaiah, and serves as a prequel to the 2022 Kantara, delving into regional folklore. It currently stands as the second highest-grossing Kannada film and one of the top-grossing Indian films of 2025.

Rishab Shetty has commenced filming for Jai Hanuman, a high-budget mythological project aimed at a pan-India audience, directed by Prasanth Varma. Following the success of Hanu-Man (2024), the sequel will see Rishab portraying Lord Hanuman. The production officially kicked off with a special pooja ceremony held in Hampi in February 2026.
