Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Shovik recently shared insights into one of the most challenging periods of their lives. The siblings were taken into custody by the Narcotics Control Bureau in 2020 following the tragic death of Sushant Singh Rajput. They discussed the profound emotional and psychological impact this experience had on them. Rhea emphasized that trauma doesn't simply vanish; it embeds itself within you.

During an appearance on the chat show Double Date hosted by Neha Dhupia and Angad Bedi, Rhea and Shovik recounted their experiences during and after their arrest. Shovik began by describing how drastically his life changed after the incident, recalling his previous focus on pursuing a prestigious MBA program. "Everything took a turn for the worse. Life can be unpredictable," he remarked.



He also touched on the subject of PTSD, revealing that even minor triggers, like the sound of a doorbell, can transport him back to that tumultuous time. Rhea supported her brother's sentiments, adding that trauma is not something that simply diminishes over time. It resides within you, regardless of whether you are actively thinking about it. "It’s not something you can completely overcome. It’s trauma. It remains in your body, if not in your mind. As Shovik mentioned, there’s PTSD. You undergo therapy and learn to cope with it," Rhea explained.


Rhea Chakraborty's Current Endeavors


Currently, Rhea Chakraborty has launched her podcast titled Chapter 2, where she engages with prominent personalities from various fields while also sharing her journey of renewal. Additionally, she has introduced a clothing line under the same name. On the acting front, Rhea is poised to make her return with the Netflix series Family Business, directed by Hansal Mehta. She will star alongside Anil Kapoor, Vijay Varma, Neha Dhupia, and Dhruv Sehgal, marking her first appearance on screen in seven years.


Rhea began her acting career with Mere Dad Ki Maruti in 2013 and went on to feature in films such as Sonali Cable (2014), Banks of Nahanni (2015), Half Girlfriend (2017), and Jalebi (2018). She also appeared in the Tamil film Kaadhal Kaadhai (2018). Her last film was the 2021 thriller Chehre, where she acted alongside Amitabh Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi.
