A Year Since the Pahalgam Attack
On this day last year, the nation was shaken by the Pahalgam terror attack, which occurred at a picturesque tourist spot in Jammu and Kashmir on April 22, 2025. This tragic event, orchestrated by a terror group from Pakistan, claimed the lives of 26 individuals and left many families in deep sorrow. The haunting images from that day still resonate with the public, and today, social media is filled with messages of condolence and support. Kashmiri actress Farrhana Bhatt, who gained fame from her participation in Salman Khan's reality show Bigg Boss 19, also took to her X account to pay tribute to the victims.
Farrhana Bhatt Honors the Victims
The actress expressed her sentiments on Wednesday, stating, "A year has passed since the tragedy at Baisaran Valley, yet the silence it left still resonates. We honor the lives lost, and we advocate for a future where such suffering has no place."
For those who may not know, Farrhana is a talented actress from Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, who grew up in a traditional Kashmiri Muslim family and gained fame as a contestant on Bigg Boss 19.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also paid his respects to the victims, stating, "Remembering the innocent lives lost in the tragic Pahalgam attack on this day last year. They will always be remembered. My thoughts are with the grieving families as they navigate this loss. As a nation, we stand together in sorrow and determination. India will never yield to any form of terror. The malicious intentions of terrorists will not prevail."
Union Home Minister Amit Shah echoed these sentiments, noting that the nation solemnly commemorates the innocent lives lost in the Pahalgam attack. He emphasized that the pain of losing these individuals still lingers in the hearts of every Indian and highlighted that terrorism is humanity's greatest enemy, calling for unity to combat it. He reaffirmed India's commitment to a zero-tolerance policy against terrorism and its supporters.
In response to the Pahalgam attack, India launched a counter-military operation named Operation Sindoor, targeting and dismantling terror and military infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. This operation was accompanied by restrictions on Pakistani actors’ social media accounts, YouTube channels, and television shows to curb the spread of misinformation and anti-India sentiment.
