Rajeev Shukla, the Vice-President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), honored the late Nana Patekar following his death on Thursday. He described Patekar as 'an exceptionally compassionate human being.' The actor passed away at 5:20 AM due to a cardiac arrest at his home, as confirmed by Dr. Shekhar Salkar, Chief of the Department of Oncology at Manipal Hospital.
Dr. Salkar reported that CPR was performed for 45 minutes, but Patekar remained in asystole during the entire procedure.

Nana Patekar was a celebrated figure in both Hindi and Marathi cinema. He began his acting journey with the 1978 film 'Gaman' and quickly became renowned for his roles in notable films such as 'Parinda,' 'Prahar,' 'Angaar,' 'Krantiveer,' 'Tiranga,' 'Khamoshi,' and 'Ab Tak Chhappan.'
Recent and Future Endeavors
In the last few years, Patekar remained active in various projects. He was featured in 'Housefull 5,' alongside stars like Akshay Kumar and Abhishek Bachchan. At the age of 75, he also portrayed a police officer in Vishal Bhardwaj's 'O'Romeo,' which starred Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri.
