Anthony Head, the renowned British actor known for his memorable performances in "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Ted Lasso," has sadly passed away at the age of 72, as confirmed by his family on Friday. His daughters, Emily and Daisy Head, shared that their father lost his battle with pneumonia. In a touching statement to the Press Association, they expressed their immense sorrow, saying, "Our grief is far greater than the hole he has left behind, but we know his legacy will live on, in the shows he was a part of, and in the audiences that love them."


Head became a household name in the U.S. for his role as Rupert Giles, the wise mentor to the main character in the beloved supernatural series "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," which aired from 1997 to 2003. His portrayal won the hearts of many and established him as a significant figure in television history. The influence of his work is still felt today, as tributes from fans and colleagues continue to pour in.


Co-star Sarah Michelle Gellar shared a heartfelt message on social media, reminiscing about their time together. She wrote, "Tell Giles I figured it out and I’m ok. Well, I don’t have it figured out and I’m not ok. But I know I’m the lucky one because I knew you." Gellar also thanked Daisy and Emily for sharing their father with the world, emphasizing the strong bonds formed during their time on set.


James Marsters, another co-star from "Buffy," also expressed his condolences, stating, "There’s a hole in the World. Anthony Head has passed on from us.
