Ravi Kishan Defends Dhurandhar 2 Amid Controversy
Dhurandhar 2: A Box Office Sensation
Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar 2 has emerged as one of the year's biggest hits, featuring Ranveer Singh in the dual role of Hamza Ali Mazari and Jaskirat Singh Rangi. This film has made history by becoming the first Hindi movie to cross the Rs 1,000 crore milestone in India. While it has received widespread acclaim, some viewers have labeled it as 'propaganda'. In light of this, actor Ravi Kishan has voiced his support for the film. Recently seen in Maamla Legal Hai Season 2, he shared his perspective on the controversy surrounding Dhurandhar 2.
Ravi Kishan's Support for Dhurandhar 2
In a conversation with a media outlet, Ravi Kishan expressed that branding Dhurandhar 2 as a 'propaganda' film is misguided. He urged audiences to rally behind the movie, similar to the support shown by actors from the South Indian film industry. "A new trend has emerged where films are labeled as propaganda – people have caught a new pigeon," he remarked.
Ravi further drew parallels between the Dhurandhar series and the iconic 1975 film Sholay. He emphasized that filmmakers often draw inspiration from real-life events and present them cinematically. He expressed optimism about the resurgence of cinema attendance, noting that the industry has faced significant challenges, particularly the Bhojpuri sector, which has nearly collapsed. "This resurgence is a boon for the industry, providing livelihoods for countless individuals involved in cinema," he stated. Additionally, Ravi highlighted the importance of cinema reflecting societal realities, advocating for a more accurate representation of history through research. "We need to reveal the truths that have been obscured from our history!" he asserted.
