Hanumankind Shows Support at Jantar Mantar

On Monday, renowned rapper Hanumankind made an appearance at Jantar Mantar in Delhi to express his solidarity with students protesting for educational rights and the resignation of the Union Minister of Education. Amid escalating tensions, he joined other celebrities in supporting the demonstrators. Blending into the crowd, he was spotted by locals and shared moments from the protest on his Instagram account. The Chalo Sansad march, organized by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP), escalated into violence as police resorted to lathi charges.

Hanumankind posted updates on his Instagram Stories during the protest, stating, “Right before the cops started firing tear gas and beating people with sticks.” He humorously captioned some images, “July 20th 2026. Some of the more colorful moments of the day.” Fellow artist Vishal Dadlani praised him, saying, “Thank you, my brother, for being one of the few people standing up.”

Known as Sooraj Cherukat, Hanumankind is a rapper hailing from Kerala. His 2024 hit track Big Dawgs gained immense popularity, particularly in the United States. He made his film debut in 2020 with the Kannada action crime movie Popcorn Monkey Tiger, where he performed the song Maadeva. In 2024, he starred in the successful Malayalam film Rifle Club. Recently, he showcased his talent at Coachella in California in April 2025 and made his Bollywood rap debut with Dhurandhar in 2025. He also has a project titled Jana Nayagan in the works.

Violence Erupts During CJP Protest

Reports indicate that the CJP protest march towards Parliament turned chaotic, with Delhi Police stating that over 118 officers were injured during the clashes. Approximately 60 protesters also suffered injuries. Authorities have filed five FIRs related to the violence, stone-pelting, and vandalism, and are reviewing more than 250 videos to identify those involved. Additionally, the Delhi High Court has directed activist Sonam Wangchuk to follow medical advice and transfer to a private hospital of his choice after his health deteriorated during a hunger strike that began on June 28.
