Ranveer Singh Takes Legal Action Over Controversial Remarks at Filmfare Awards
Ranveer Singh Challenges FIR in Karnataka High Court
Bengaluru: Renowned Hindi film star Ranveer Singh has approached the Karnataka High Court to contest an FIR and seek the dismissal of a criminal case filed against him. This legal action stems from allegations of disrespecting a 'deity' during a mimicry performance related to the film Kantara Chapter-1.
The issue arose from comments made by Singh at the Filmfare Awards held in Goa, where he reportedly imitated a Daiva and referred to it as a 'devil'.
An FIR was filed at the High Grounds police station following a complaint from advocate Prashanth.
Previously, the police had issued notices to Singh regarding the matter.
Due to a lack of response from the actor, the High Grounds police have recently begun taking steps for further legal proceedings, according to police sources.
