The ongoing family feud regarding the estate of the late businessman Sunjay Kapur is evolving daily. Recently, his mother, Rani Kapur, has publicly criticized his widow, Priya Kapur. In her statements, Rani characterized the dispute over the will and trust as both 'deeply painful' and 'personal,' emphasizing her desire to safeguard her family's legacy. This controversy has gained additional attention due to its ties to Karisma Kapoor, Sunjay's ex-wife, and their children, with whom Rani claims to maintain a close relationship.

Rani Kapur Issues New Legal Notice to Priya Kapur

In comments made to a news outlet, Rani Kapur expressed that the conflict transcends mere legal matters. 'It’s very hurtful for me because my husband established this trust and entrusted everything to me,' she stated, referring to the RK family trust. She emphasized that the business and assets in question were developed over many years by her late husband, asserting her own contributions to both the family business and their home after moving from Mumbai to Delhi.

Rani alleged that tensions heightened following Sunjay’s marriage to Priya, claiming significant changes began during that time. She suggested that Priya started to take control of the business shortly after Sunjay's passing. Rani expressed her difficulty in accepting claims over a legacy she believes was established long before Priya entered the family. In a particularly pointed comment, Rani stated, 'I don’t want her near that place,' voicing her fears and uncertainties about returning to Delhi, where the family's main assets are located. She mentioned that she has avoided the area since her son's death and is concerned about the potential consequences of her return.

Furthermore, Rani confirmed that she has sent a formal notice to Priya Kapur, demanding that she cease her role as a trustee. According to Rani, Priya's removal has already taken effect following the notice period, and any challenge to her position within the trust is 'legally invalid.'

She further indicated that she was very close to her son, noting that he seldom made decisions without her input. While these assertions remain unverified, they highlight the emotional weight of the ongoing conflict.

Rani clarified her ongoing connection with Sunjay’s children from his marriage to Karisma Kapoor, saying, 'He was married to two nice girls, a good family. He's got two children from his second wife, whom I meet all the time,' confirming her positive relationship with the actress.
