Mumbai, April 2: Anticipation was high as fans awaited the reveal of Ranbir Kapoor’s first look as Rama in Nitesh Tiwary’s upcoming film “Ramayana.” However, the actor's absence from the significant media event on Hanuman Jayanti raised eyebrows.

Earlier that day, Ranbir's initial portrayal of Lord Rama was showcased. The event was attended by director Nitesh Tiwary and producer Namit Malhotra, creating a buzz among the media.

Despite the excitement, with cameras and reporters ready to capture the moment, Ranbir was conspicuously absent from the gathering.

In a surprising twist, he did appear at a special screening for select media the night before, alongside the director and producer, which left many questioning the reason for his absence at the main event.

Just the previous day, he had participated in a private screening with a limited audience, leading to speculation about the change in his schedule.

Adding to the intrigue, Ranbir had been seen at a Los Angeles event for the same film, further complicating the narrative surrounding his absence.

This was not just any reveal; it was the first look of Rama, making his no-show at such a pivotal moment particularly noticeable.

The film boasts an impressive cast, including Sai Pallavi, Yash, Ravie Dubey, Sunny Deol, Lara Dutta, and Amitabh Bachchan. The Ramayana has been adapted into over 300 versions across various cultures globally.

Music legends Hans Zimmer and A. R. Rahman are collaborating on the film's score.

‘Ramayana’ is envisioned as a two-part live-action cinematic experience, aiming to be one of the largest productions ever undertaken.

Hollywood's renowned stunt directors Terry Notary (known for Avengers, Planet of the Apes) and Guy Norris (Mad Max: Fury Road, Furiosa) are choreographing the epic confrontations between deities and demons.

The film is being shot for IMAX and is set for a worldwide release, with Part 1 scheduled for Diwali 2026 and Part 2 for Diwali 2027.
