The upcoming film adaptation of the Ramayana has made headlines by surpassing ₹100 crore in worldwide advance bookings just days before its release. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, this cinematic venture has generated significant buzz, with strong ticket sales driven by both domestic and international markets. The film is set to premiere on November 5, featuring a star-studded cast and a two-part release strategy. With its impressive pre-release figures, industry analysts are drawing comparisons to blockbuster hits, positioning it for a potentially record-breaking opening day. Discover more about this highly anticipated film and its journey to the big screen.

A Historic Milestone for the Ramayana Adaptation

The eagerly awaited film adaptation of the Ramayana has officially surpassed the ₹100-crore mark in advance ticket sales globally, just two days prior to its theatrical release. This achievement places the project, directed by Nitesh Tiwari, among a select few Indian films to reach such impressive pre-release figures, indicating a strong interest from audiences ahead of its November 5 premiere.

Following a period of stabilization after ticket sales commenced on Dussehra, the film experienced a significant uptick in bookings. Initially, there was a robust response when pre-sales began, but the momentum increased dramatically after the resolution of distribution talks between Dharma Productions and theater owners. This agreement resulted in a swift increase in screen availability, with over 1,500 additional screens added in just the last 24 hours, bringing the total to over 5,000 screens by Tuesday morning.

Unprecedented Sales and Market Impact

Record-Breaking Momentum and Market Performance

The domestic market has been a key factor in this surge, with the film generating ₹58 crore in advance sales in India by the morning of November 3. Notably, ₹27 crore of that total was earned on the opening day alone. The demand has continued to grow, with an additional ₹25 crore in gross pre-sales over the following two days. With nearly 1.5 million tickets sold nationwide, premium formats like IMAX have played a crucial role, accounting for about 25% of total sales despite representing only 4% of the overall screen count.

Internationally, the film is also performing well, having secured $5 million in advance bookings in North America, driven by strong interest in paid previews set for November 4. This combination of domestic and international sales has pushed the total worldwide advance bookings to ₹105 crore. Analysts are now comparing the film's trajectory to major hits like Baahubali 2, RRR, and Pushpa 2, suggesting it could achieve a top-five all-time opening day.
