Ram Gopal Varma Defends Ranveer Singh Amid Controversy Over Don 3
Ranveer Singh Faces Industry Backlash
Ranveer Singh has found himself in hot water following his exit from Farhan Akhtar's Don 3. In response to this situation, Farhan and Ritesh Sidhwani from Excel Entertainment lodged a formal complaint, prompting the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) to issue a non-cooperation order against him. This directive effectively shadow-bans Ranveer, urging the film industry to refrain from collaborating with him until he resolves his issues with the Don 3 production team. Amidst this turmoil, filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma has come to Ranveer's defense, calling for a ban on FWICE instead.
Ram Gopal Varma's Strong Stance
Ban FWICE, Not Ranveer Singh: Ram Gopal Varma
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Varma urged for FWICE to be banned rather than targeting Ranveer Singh. He criticized the federation's actions as mere performative gestures that will ultimately be seen as a 'big fat joke.' Varma described FWICE as an outdated union that is desperately trying to maintain control. He pointed out that many workers, whom FWICE claims to represent, are unaware of the specifics surrounding the dispute between Ranveer and the Don 3 team.
Varma's Critique of FWICE
According to Varma, FWICE is not a legitimate judicial body and lacks the authority to enforce justice. He referred to it as a 'kangaroo court' that ignores established legal principles and due process. He emphasized that if Ranveer were to agree to work again, there would be a long line of producers eager to collaborate with him, highlighting the actor's significant role in creating job opportunities within the industry.
