The exhibitors in Telangana are advocating for a shift from the traditional rental revenue model to a percentage-based system, which they want to apply to Peddi. Fortunately, after discussions involving the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce and renowned actor Chiranjeevi, a resolution was reached. A letter from the exhibitors confirmed that the new percentage system will be implemented starting June 30.

On Wednesday, the TSFCC announced that talks had taken place with Chiranjeevi and the Telangana exhibitors. This assurance has led to an agreement to facilitate the smooth release of Peddi. The letter also stated that the new system would be finalized by June 30, 2026, with implementation starting on July 3, 2026, after which the rental model will be phased out.

The percentage-sharing model has already been trialed in 23 theatres across Telangana since early April. However, producers have been hesitant about its broader application, citing concerns over timing.
