'Coolie' has been awarded an ‘A’ rating by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) due to its violent content, which surprised many viewers, especially since Lokesh's previous films, 'Leo' and 'Vikram', received a ‘U/A’ rating. The storyline revolves around Deva, a former gold smuggler turned coolie, who attempts to reclaim his former glory by reassembling his old gang using stolen technology concealed within vintage gold watches, leading to unforeseen repercussions.
