Raghava Lawrence's Decision to Enter Politics
Reports suggest that the ruling Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) may nominate him for the Tiruchirappalli East Assembly seat in the upcoming byelection, following the resignation of the party's founder and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay. In a recent social media video, Raghava shared how politics became a part of his life, emphasizing the importance of fulfilling one's duties without expecting rewards. He recalled that his political journey began during the 2017 pro-Jallikattu protests, which sparked significant discussions. Although that issue has since faded, it marked the start of his political engagement. He also expressed solidarity with his mentor Rajinikanth when the veteran actor announced his own political intentions. Lawrence highlighted his long-standing commitment to social work.

Lawrence also shared that while he was enthusiastic about his decision, his mother initially cautioned him against entering politics, describing it as a "sewer" fraught with corruption, caste issues, and financial misuse during elections.
