Production Designer Saini S Johray Faces Serious Allegations of Sexual Harassment
Allegations Against Saini S Johray
Saini S Johray, a notable production designer recognized for his contributions to the film "Dhurandhar," is currently facing serious allegations of sexual harassment. The Chandigarh Police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) following accusations from a woman who claims Johray committed several offenses, including assault, wrongful confinement, and drugging her drink during a meeting at a hotel in Chandigarh. An investigation is underway, but Johray has not yet made any public comments regarding these claims.
The complaint was officially lodged at the Sector-17 police station on April 20, 2025, by the woman, who is from New Delhi. After conducting a preliminary inquiry, authorities filed a case under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, specifically Sections 74, 79, 123, and 126(2). Reports indicate that Johray allegedly invited the complainant to a room at the Taj Hotel in Chandigarh, where he is accused of sexually harassing her, physically assaulting her, and unlawfully confining her.
Johray has been identified as a resident of Oberoi Springs in Andheri West, Mumbai. Police sources have confirmed that they are gathering statements from the complainant and potential witnesses. Furthermore, CCTV footage and hotel records from the Taj Hotel in Sector 17 are expected to play a crucial role in the ongoing investigation.
The timeline reveals that the woman was a student at a government college when she first met Johray. After a faculty member forwarded her resume to the film's team, she was appointed as an assistant art director on September 2, 2025. Johray reportedly developed a professional rapport with her, eventually inviting her to a private meeting at the hotel under the guise of discussing work matters.
During the alleged incident on September 10, 2025, the woman claims Johray coerced her into consuming an alcoholic beverage that he had prepared. She reported feeling unwell, leading to vomiting, and stated that Johray followed her into the bathroom, continuing to touch her inappropriately. Following the incident, she alleges that Johray further harassed her by filing complaints against her, which she claims intensified her mental distress. The Chandigarh Police have indicated that the investigation is ongoing, with officials working to verify the allegations made by the complainant.
