Mumbai, Aug 13: On the special occasion marking the birth anniversary of the iconic actress Sridevi, Priyanka Chopra took to social media to share exciting news about the highly anticipated biography dedicated to the late star's life and impact.

Sridevi, a revered figure in Indian cinema, is fondly remembered for her outstanding performances and significant contributions to the film industry. Priyanka utilized her Instagram stories to provide a sneak peek into the biography's development while honoring Sridevi on this memorable day. The forthcoming book is set to delve into Sridevi’s remarkable career, personal experiences, and the enduring legacy she has left behind.

The ‘Baywatch’ star showcased the book cover, which features the title ‘Empress - The Definitive Biography of Sridevi’ along with a quote from Amitabh Bachchan and Dhiraj U. Kumarr, stating, “The epitome of unmitigated talent.” In her post, she expressed, “The one and only. You are so missed. Happy heavenly birthday #Sridevi #Empress….coming soon.”

This year, Westland Books announced the release of an official biography titled "Sridevi: The Life of a Legend," which will explore the superstar's life and career, particularly during her reign in commercial Indian cinema throughout the 1980s and 1990s. The book, authored by debut writer Dhiraj Kumar, promises to provide an in-depth look at Sridevi’s life both in front of and behind the camera.

Boney Kapoor expressed his appreciation for Dhiraj Kumar, whom Sridevi regarded as family. He described Kumar as a diligent researcher, writer, and columnist, and conveyed his joy that Kumar is penning a book that encapsulates Sridevi’s remarkable life and legacy.

For those unaware, Sridevi tragically passed away on February 24, 2018, at the age of 54 in Dubai, UAE. The beloved actress, celebrated for her roles in films such as "Mr. India,” "Chandni," and "Himmatwala," suffered a cardiac arrest.

At the time of her passing, she was in Dubai to attend the wedding of her relative, actor Mohit Marwah. Reports indicated that Sridevi collapsed in her hotel room, and despite efforts from a medical team to revive her, she could not be saved and was later pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.
