On July 2, the Madras High Court denied bail requests from individuals linked to the case, including S. Rajini and Jayaprakash. Reports suggest that nearly 1.2 crore viewers accessed the leaked version online, marking it as one of the largest piracy incidents in recent Tamil cinema history.

In addition to Vijay and Priyamani, Jana Nayagan features a talented cast, including Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, Narain, Prakash Raj, Mamitha Baiju, and Gautham Vasudev Menon. The film is produced by Venkat K. Narayana under the KVN Productions banner, alongside Lohith N.K. and Jagadish Palanisamy. Initially intended as Vijay's farewell to cinema before transitioning to politics, Jana Nayagan was originally set for a Pongal 2026 release.
