Prakash Padukone, the father of actress Deepika Padukone, recently shared insights about his relationship with son-in-law Ranveer Singh. In a recent interview, the badminton icon highlighted their shared interests, particularly in sports, which connects them. While reflecting on his relationship with Ranveer, Padukone also expressed his candid views on the actor's film, Dhurandhar, which was released on December 5 last year and achieved remarkable box office success. Although he appreciated the film, he noted that it contained a bit too much violence, yet he still regarded it as a 'great' film.


Prakash Padukone's Take on 'Dhurandhar'

In a conversation with Indian Express, Prakash praised Dhurandhar for its quality production and the strong performances from the cast. He mentioned, "We felt there was a little bit too much violence, but the majority of people liked it, so I think that’s more important."


Padukone further elaborated on the time they spend together, noting that both families are very close and often vacation together. He shared that he enjoys discussing movies with Ranveer, who is eager to learn about the film industry. Conversely, Ranveer frequently seeks advice from his father-in-law regarding sports. "We don’t get so much time, as they are all busy, but whatever time we get, we like to sit together and enjoy whether it’s football or cricket. He is an Arsenal fan, and our daughter Anisha is a Manchester United fan, so there are these common interests," he explained.

In Dhurandhar, Ranveer portrays the character Hamza Ali Mazari/Jaskirat Singh Rangi. The film features a stellar cast, including Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan, Sara Arjun, Rakesh Bedi, Danish Pandor, and Akshaye Khanna. Sanjay plays SP Chaudhary Aslam, while Akshaye takes on the role of Rehman Akait. Rakesh Bedi portrays Jameel Jamali, and R Madhavan plays Ajay Sanyal.
