Prabhas' Upcoming Film 'Spirit' Faces Cast Changes Ahead of Release
Exciting Developments in 'Spirit'
The highly anticipated action drama Spirit, featuring Prabhas and directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, is generating buzz as one of the most awaited films of the year. This pan-India project includes notable actors such as Triptii Dimri, Vivek Oberoi, and Prakash Raj in significant roles. Scheduled for release next year, recent updates indicate that Prakash Raj will no longer be part of the film. Following the reveal of Vivek Oberoi's character look, the production house's social media announcement tagged the cast and crew, but Prakash Raj's name was conspicuously missing.
Prakash Raj Exits 'Spirit'
Reports from various sources, including Hindustan Times, have confirmed that Prakash Raj has departed from the project. Earlier, an article from OTTPlay suggested that a disagreement with director Vanga over the script and a specific scene led to Raj's exit. A reliable source has now verified to HT that he is indeed no longer involved with Spirit, although details regarding his replacement remain undisclosed.
In the meantime, the production team has unveiled Vivek Oberoi’s first look from Spirit, marking the second visual release from the film, following the initial teaser featuring Prabhas and Triptii Dimri shared on New Year’s Eve 2025.
Insights on 'Spirit'
Spirit represents Prabhas' inaugural collaboration with director Sandeep Reddy Vanga and is anticipated to be a thrilling action-packed narrative. Prabhas will portray an IPS officer, and an audio preview previously released highlighted a tense interaction between him and Prakash Raj. With Vivek Oberoi also in the cast, the production team is reportedly taking stringent measures to safeguard Prabhas’ striking new appearance from leaks.
Spirit is an ambitious venture by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, showcasing Prabhas and Triptii Dimri as leads. The film promises not only high-octane action but also a deep emotional narrative intertwined with a romantic subplot. Following Spirit, Prabhas is set to star in Fauzi, a period drama directed by Hanu Raghavapudi. The film is slated for release in eight languages and is produced by Bhushan Kumar under the T-Series banner, with a premiere date of March 5, 2027.
