Paras Arora holds the distinction of being one of the first actors to portray Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj on Indian television. He played the younger version of the legendary Maratha king in the acclaimed series, Veer Shivaji. In a recent interview with a media outlet, Paras shared insights about the impact of his role and expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming film, Raja Shivaji, featuring Riteish Deshmukh.

Reflecting on his experience, Paras stated, "I am likely the first actor to depict Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj on TV. This role allowed me to learn extensively about Maharaj, not just from Maharashtra but from all over India. Veer Shivaji was my debut show that brought me recognition, and I feel blessed to have started my career portraying such an iconic figure. With Raja Shivaji being released in Hindi and Marathi, audiences will gain deeper insights into Maharaj's legacy."



When asked about Riteish Deshmukh's portrayal of Raja Shivaji, he expressed his excitement, stating, "I am thrilled to see Riteish ji as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. He is an ideal fit for the role and has poured his heart into this project, which has been a dream for him."


Inspiration from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's Life


Paras shared that one of the most inspiring moments from Maharaj's life for him was the battle at Torna Fort, which he depicted in the series. He quoted Maharaj's famous line, 'Hindavi Swarajya Vhave Hich Shrinchi Iccha,' emphasizing the sacrifices made for Hindutva and the importance of spreading awareness.



Addressing the perception of Maharaj as merely a Maratha king, Paras remarked, "Many outside Maharashtra lack awareness of Maharaj's contributions to Hindavi Swarajya. The film Raja Shivaji will help illuminate his efforts, which were for the entire nation, not just Maharashtra."


Lessons Learned from Portraying Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj


During his time on Veer Shivaji, Paras acquired skills such as horse riding and sword fighting. He reflected on the broader lessons learned, stating, "I gained insights into standing up for oneself and others, as well as the significance of humanity. Maharaj's legacy transcends religion, as he collaborated with good Muslims of his time to fight for justice." He expressed gratitude for the respect he received while portraying Maharaj, noting that many older individuals would come to pay their respects.



Excited about the release of Raja Shivaji, Paras concluded, "I am eager to watch the film in theaters. Now that I am back in town, I will definitely make plans to see it on the big screen.
