Following the complaint from the 34-year-old resident of Shatri Nagar, authorities promptly filed a case against Muchhal under the Atrocities Act.

Consequently, the Sangli police have initiated an investigation against Muchhal under Section 3(1) of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, along with Sections 351(2) and 352.
