Mumbai: The renowned dancing sensation of Bollywood, Nora Fatehi, is set to take the stage at the opening ceremony of the FIFA World Cup 2026, which will be held in Toronto, Canada.
Scheduled for June 12 at BMO Field, the event will also feature performances from notable artists including Michael Bublé, Alanis Morissette, Alessia Cara, Elyanna, Jessie Reyez, Sanjoy, Vegedream, and William Prince.
In the USA, the opening ceremony will showcase a star-studded lineup featuring global music legends such as Anitta, Future, Katy Perry, Lisa, Rema, and Tyla, promising an extraordinary fusion of international music, culture, and entertainment.
According to fifa.com, the ceremony will embark on a journey across Canada, highlighting moments that celebrate the nation from coast to coast. The atmosphere will be filled with excitement, inviting everyone to partake in this monumental occasion.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino remarked, "The opening ceremony in Toronto will powerfully reflect Canada’s identity and the vibrant energy surrounding the FIFA World Cup 2026."
He further added, "Through music, culture, and unforgettable performances, we will extend a warm welcome to the world with a celebration that is distinctly Canadian yet connected to the broader narrative unfolding across Mexico and the United States. The FIFA World Cup 2026 will feature a total of 104 matches across 16 host cities, kicking off on June 11 in Mexico City and concluding with the final on July 19 at the New York-New Jersey Stadium.
Nora Fatehi, who made her acting debut in the Hindi film Roar: Tigers of the Sundarbans in 2014, has gained significant recognition for her special appearances in Telugu films such as Temper, Baahubali: The Beginning, and Kick 2. She has also appeared in two Malayalam films, Double Barrel and Kayamkulam Kochunni.
In 2015, she participated as a contestant in the controversial reality show Bigg Boss, hosted by Salman Khan, and later took part in the dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa in 2016.
Nora has also played supporting roles in Hindi films like Street Dancer 3D and Bhuj: The Pride of India. Additionally, she has served as a judge on television shows such as Dance Deewane Juniors and Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 10.
