Hearing Scheduled for Controversial Song

New Delhi: The National Commission for Women (NCW) has announced a hearing regarding the contentious song 'Sarke Chunar', with actress Nora Fatehi scheduled to appear on May 7 at 11:30 A.M.

This hearing is part of the NCW's investigation into claims of vulgarity and the inappropriate portrayal of women in the song 'Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke', which has faced significant backlash since its debut.

The NCW had previously taken notice of the situation, expressing concerns about the sexually suggestive nature of the content and its potential effects on public morality and minors.

Nora Fatehi, who missed an earlier hearing due to being overseas, has requested a new date to present her perspective. Her upcoming appearance is viewed as a pivotal moment in the Commission's efforts to resolve the issue.

Actor Sanjay Dutt has already appeared before the Commission, where he issued a written apology and expressed remorse for any unintended consequences. He has pledged to fund the education of 50 tribal girls and promised that future projects will undergo stricter legal scrutiny to ensure respectful representation of women and children.

The controversy gained momentum shortly after the song's release, with critics and social media users condemning its lyrics and dance sequences as inappropriate. Singer Armaan Malik described the writing as a 'new low', leading to legal complaints aimed at banning the song. In response to the growing criticism, the producers reportedly removed the track from YouTube.

NCW Chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar has firmly stated that women's dignity must not be compromised for the sake of artistic expression. During earlier hearings, the Commission interrogated those involved about their intentions, accountability, and awareness, urging them to prevent such oversights in the future.

The ongoing controversy surrounding the song, which features both Nora Fatehi and Sanjay Dutt, is associated with the film 'KD: The Devil', and continues to attract attention as authorities assess the responsibilities of artists and creators in promoting socially responsible content.
