The Muslim Personal Darul Ifta in Aligarh has issued a fatwa against the actress due to her involvement in the song, which is part of the upcoming film KD The Devil. The fatwa from Darul Ifta has taken many by surprise. According to a notice shared by a news agency, the organization stated that songs like Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke, deemed vulgar, are considered ‘haram’ in Islamic teachings. The notice emphasized that engaging with such content contradicts moral and religious values, regardless of one's faith. Furthermore, the organization noted that the song has faced backlash from various groups, prompting authorities to take action.



National Commission for Women Takes Action

The National Commission for Women has also intervened, taking suo motu cognizance of the situation. They have issued summons to Nora Fatehi, Sanjay Dutt, and others involved in the project.


Reports indicate that the Commission expressed concerns regarding the song's sexually suggestive content, which may violate laws such as the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, the Information Technology Act of 2000, and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act of 2012. Those summoned are required to present relevant documents before the Commission on March 24, 2026, or face further consequences.



Team Under Scrutiny

In addition to Nora Fatehi and Sanjay Dutt, notices have also been sent to lyricist Raqueeb Alam, producer Venkat K Narayana, and director Kiran Kumar. The entire team behind KD The Devil is currently under investigation as authorities assess the song's content and its potential implications.


Previously, the song was removed from YouTube due to the backlash. Amid the controversy, Nora Fatehi addressed the issue on social media, stating that she distanced herself from the project once she grasped the implications of the lyrics. She mentioned that she was initially unaware of the song's true meaning but chose not to promote it after learning about the controversy.
