New Song from Bhooth Bangla Draws Satyajit Ray Inspiration
Introduction to Bhooth Bangla's First Track
The initial track from Priyadarshan’s upcoming film Bhooth Bangla, titled Ram Ji Aake Bhala Karenge, made its debut on February 26. Featuring Akshay Kumar, this video is primarily a promotional tool. The song is performed by Armaan Malik and Aarvan (Dev Arijit), with the rap segment crafted by Mellow D. Shortly after its release, some viewers noted a resemblance to the works of Satyajit Ray. Although the filmmakers have not officially commented on this, the rap's style appears to echo elements from Bhooter Raja Dilo Bor, a piece from Ray’s 1969 classic Goopy Gyne Bagha Byne.

Understanding Goopy Gyne Bagha Byne
What is Goopy Gyne Bagha Byne?
The song Bhooter Raja Dilo Bor from Goopy Gyne Bagha Byne is a timeless classic in Bengali cinema. One user remarked, “The line 'Sada bhoot, seedha bhoot' from Ram Ji Aake Bhala Karenge seems to draw inspiration from the playful 'Aha bhoot, baha bhoot' in Bhuter Raja Dilo Bor. Both tracks share a whimsical, comedic ghost theme!” The film Goopy Gyne Bagha Byne is a horror-comedy that follows the adventures of Goopy and Bagha, who are exiled for their poor musical talents. They eventually win the favor of the king of ghosts, who grants them three wishes. This film is part of a trilogy, with the sequel Hirak Rajar Deshe (1980) directed by Satyajit Ray, and the third installment, Gupi Bagha Phire Elo, released in 1992.
