Nawazuddin Siddiqui Responds to Controversy Over 'Fake Films' Remarks
Nawazuddin Siddiqui Addresses Controversy
Nawazuddin Siddiqui recently stirred up a debate with his comments regarding 'fake films,' leading to speculation that he was targeting specific projects, including Dhurandhar featuring Ranveer Singh and Aditya Dhar. His remarks quickly gained traction online, prompting discussions among netizens. In a recent interview with a media outlet, the actor clarified that his comments were not directed at any particular film but were intended as a general observation about the film industry.
Nawazuddin Clarifies His Statements
In response to the backlash, Nawazuddin explained that his earlier statements were misinterpreted. He stated, “When you talk about films, it’s not necessary to refer to only the recent releases. I am speaking about films from the 70s and 80s. Some films fall into that category.” He emphasized the beauty of the industry, noting, “Our industry is diverse, producing all kinds of cinema.”
He compared Dhurandhar to his upcoming film Main Actor Nahin Hoon, stating, “If a film like Dhurandhar is a big hit, attracting millions of viewers, it stands on one side, while our film is on the other. The budget for their film is what we used to create our entire project. This diversity is what makes our industry unique.” Nawazuddin reiterated that his critique was not aimed at any single film but rather at a broader trend he observes in filmmaking, advocating for a balance between large-scale blockbusters and smaller, content-driven films.
Nawazuddin Defends Method Acting
During the same interview, he also discussed the trend of mocking method acting, particularly regarding actors like Ranveer Singh, who immerse themselves deeply in their roles. He defended this approach, stating, “If you lack education, it may seem cool to mock it. Education, practice, and seriousness are essential for everything.” He elaborated on method acting, explaining that it involves specific exercises that help actors achieve emotional depth, and ridiculing it is unjust. Nawazuddin believes that every actor takes their craft seriously, and the dedication they show is crucial, as any lack of sincerity is evident on screen.
